To
Whom It May Concern,
Last
Spring a major roofing problem caused widespread and significant
damage to the beautiful ceiling of our church. We contacted Fortune
Painting Company to discuss what could be done and, eventually,
to do the work.
I
dealt primarily with Tom Fortune in this phase of the job. I found
him to be honest, knowledgeable, pleasant to deal with and extremely
flexible. Our needs included some very tedious restoration of
detail work in our ceiling frescos. Tom knew what needed to be
done and was able to work out a schedule without significant disruption
to our weddings and other major liturgical celebrations. The work
began and ended on schedule despite several changes requested
by us as work progressed.
Toms
workers were courteous, friendly and always professional. Their
clean up after the work was done may have left the church cleaner
than it was before they started! When one leak in the roof persisted,
Tom assured us that he would return to complete that portion of
the work whenever the leak could be found and stopped. This work
would also be done as part of the original contract.
I
found Fortune Restorations prices to be competitive with other contractors
and reasonable. The many "little extras" that Tom threw
in were just added reasons why I would recommend Tom Fortune and
Fortune Restoration to any and all.
Sincerely,

Rev.

Fortune
& Associates Painting Contractors, Inc. has received national
recognition for demonstrating creativity and skilled craftsmanship
in their project, "Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church."
The
project was a winner in the "Picture It Painted Professionally"
(PIPP) Awards contest sponsored by the Painting and Decorating
Contractors of America (PDCA). Now in its fifteenth year,
the competition honors professional painting contractors for their
skillful and creative use of paint in residential, commercial
and industrial settings. Fortune & Associates Painting
Contractors' project won an honerable mention award in the Commercial
Interior category, and was one of 21 ward recipients honored at
the PDCA Annual Convention held in Nashville, TN, on March 12,
1998.
After
a roofing project in 1996 caught the contractor off guard and
water damaged the inside of the Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church,
Fortune & Associates was called upon to fix the situation.
Since the insurance company would not reimburse a complete restoration
of the entire ceiling, their expertise was required as they faced
the challenge of graining, stenciling, glazing and custom color
matching to exactly match areas that had not been painted in 40
years.
This
year's PIPP contest generated more than 40 entries in eight categories:
interior residential, exterior residential, interior commercial,
exterior commercial, industrial, wallcoverings, faux finish and
charity paint projects. Projects were judged on the basis
of use of color, use of specialty painting techniques and unusual
treatments, overall creativity, safety management and overall
skill and execution.
PDCA
is a national trade association representing over 3,200 contractors
committed to leading the coatings applications industry to the
highest levels of performance, profitability and professionalism.
